Junior Manager Media Services (m/f/d)

In the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games Full-time / 40 hours per week / limited with a reason in kind until late summer 2025.

The position is located in the Media Services department. As a Junior Manager Media Services with a focus on media accreditation, you are responsible for the registration process of national and international press representatives before and during the event, as well as the issuance of accreditation cards during the event. Additionally, you support the Manager of Media Services in preparing and implementing all Media Services offerings before and during the event.

We would entrust you in particular with the fulfilment of these tasks: 


  • Media Accreditation

    • Implementation of the accreditation concept for press representatives

    • Coordination of the accreditation process for press representatives

    • Coordination of accreditation requests with the International University Sports Federation (FISU)

    • Handling press inquiries regarding accreditation

    • Development and coordination of accreditation zones and venue flows in close collaboration with the respective venue managers

    • Development and implementation of concepts for High Demand Events, SADs, and policies

    • Addressing questions related to content rights in connection with the press category

    • Creation of learning materials for volunteers in the area of media accreditation

    • Monitoring the setup of the Media Accreditation Centre or the area in the Main Accreditation Centre

  • Media Services

    • Assisting the Media Services Manager in preparing all media services matters before the event and executing them during the event


  • Main contact person at the Main Accreditation Centre for inquiries regarding media accreditation (or Media Accreditation Centre)

  • Issuance of accreditation cards to press representatives

  • Ensuring necessary documents (Code of Conduct, etc.) are submitted and signed

  • Processing requests for last-minute accreditations

  • Communication with accredited press representatives regarding accreditation

  • Coordination of SADs in close consultation with venue managers

  • Training and coordination of volunteers in the area of media accreditation

You bring the following skills & knowledge with you: 

  • Completed university degree, preferably in journalism, communication, event or sports management, or equivalent qualification

  • Initial professional experience in media operations/media services/accreditation at sports events

  • Understanding of the needs of press representatives at major sports events

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as other communication tools

  • Very good German and English language skills

  • Enjoyment of working independently and taking ownership of tasks

  • Strong organizational skills
