To strengthen our team, we are looking for from August 1, 2024 for a

Manager Information Services (m/f/d)

In the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
Full-time / 40 hours per week / limited with a reason in kind until late summer 2025.

The 2025 World University Games will host a number of client groups during the Games including delegations, FISU Family, officials, athletes and guests. The Information Services Manager is responsible for Managing the Games time information services that will assist and support these client groups.

The role will work with staff from numerous FAs however they will report directly to the Team Lead International Services and is full time based in the OC office in Dusseldorf.

We would entrust you in particular with the fulfilment of these tasks: 

  • Manage the three Main Information Centres (MIC) which will be located in the cities of Dusseldorf, Essen and Duisburg

  • Bring the MIC layout plans to life by working with the venue managers to finalise appropriate fit out and branding of the three MICs

  • Oversee the set up of the MIC locations during the venue build period

  • Obtain all relevant information required to be distributed from the MIC

  • Oversight of the MIC and other information service areas during the Games delivery period

  • Work in conjunction with other FAs to ensure their relevant MIC area is staffed during the MIC operational period

  • In conjunction with staff from the Accommodation FA, plan and coordinate information desks at each hotel accommodation location

  • In conjunction with Sport Managers, plan and coordinate information desks at each sport venue (for non sport related information)

  • Manage the onboarding and training of volunteers working in the area of information services

  • In conjunction with the Volunteers FA, coordinate rosters and shifts for volunteers working in the area of information services

  • Work with staff from delegation services and FISU relations to develop relevant information publications for these client groups

  • Develop guidelines and procedures relating to information distribution and escalation reporting

  • Other tasks as deemed relevant to the level of the position

Other information

  • This role has one direct report

You bring the following skills & knowledge with you: 

  • An academic degree in the area of sport/event management, international relations or other relevant field

  • Have experience in managing information services at a large scale event

  • Have experience in a customer service role

  • Have an understanding of how functional areas interact in a multi sport event environment to achieve common goals

  • Be culturally and globally aware

  • Be motivated to ensure that information services are at a five star level

  • Have a high level of flexibility and be a self starter

  • Be a person who strives to find a solution to challenges

  • Excellent communication and mediation skills

  • Fluent in English. Ability to speak German is not necessary but would be an asset
