Long-term volunteers get ready for action

Daniel Danger, reporter for radio station 1LIVE, was the first, and now other important volunteers for the FISU World University Games are joining the team: on Thursday, 21 March 2024, the first 14 Long-Term Volunteers met at the headquarters of Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU Games gGmbH. They will support the organizing committee in the run-up to the event. Their enthusiasm and motivation for the event were clearly evident at this first meeting.

After the formal part was completed, a short tour of the office followed, allowing the Long-Term Volunteers to get a behind-the-scenes look and gain a better understanding of how the organizing committee works. During a relaxed get-together, everyone had the opportunity to get to know each other better, while also gearing up for the exciting collaboration ahead.

The role of Long-Term Volunteers is diverse and crucial for the smooth operation of the event. Their tasks include assisting in reviewing the submitted applications, conducting interviews with volunteer candidates, actively participating in promotional events, the official kick-off event, and volunteer training. Additionally, they support both the Volunteer Management Team and the entire organizing committee with various tasks.

"It is fantastic to work together with such committed Long-Term Volunteers to create a memorable event," says delighted Mirjam Scheffler, Senior Manager Volunteers.
