What will the Games offer?

The Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU Games will be about high-class sport and so much more. The five host cities will stage a wide range of concerts, hands-on activities and workshops, relax and chill areas, and scientific, artistic and cultural events. In short: from 16 to 27 July 2025, the Rhine-Ruhr region with the cities of Bochum, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Essen and Mülheim an der Ruhr will become one big festival site.

How can you get involved?

  • The Rhine-Ruhr team supports your local events! Are you organizing a science slam, a sports tournament, or another cultural event? We are at your side with our expertise, great prizes and other support services!

  • Do you want to be there? At the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games, you can be part of a team of 12,000 volunteers working in 48 different areas of activity across 18 sports! You could gain a practical, behind-the-scenes experience of a major sporting event, complete internships of all kinds, work in various employment relationships, and write your academic term papers or a bachelor's or master's thesis. The team is constantly growing and offers more than 30 different departments such as Broadcast, Media & Marketing, Inclusion & Sustainability, Science & Education, and Logistics & Transport.

  • Would you like to initiate your own research projects using the data generated during the organization and implementation of the Games? No problem!
