Karla Borger has good experience with the World University Games

Karla Borger, President of the German Athletes' Association and Universiade Beach Volleyball Champion 2011, is looking forward to the upcoming tasks: "The FISU Games, then still the Universiade, are very important for me both in terms of sport and personally. I won my first major international title on the sand in Shenzhen in 2011. It was an important milestone in my sporting career. I am therefore all the more looking forward to working together with the other members of the Board of Trustees to give the organisation of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games a broad impetus. Furthermore, our common goal is to bring the potential of this sustainable, inclusive and participatory major sporting event to society.

Next meeting in December 2024

Jörg Förster, Chairman of the adh, thanked the members of the Board of Trustees: I would like to thank you all very much for the great support you have shown today for the FISU World University Games Rhine-Ruhr 2025. Together with your impetus and the support of the Federal Government, the Federal States and the local authorities, we will work intensively on the further organisation and successful implementation of this largest top-class sporting event in Germany since the 1972 Olympic Games and present ourselves as an inspiring host region for major sporting events in my home region of Rhine-Ruhr in 2025.

The next meeting of the Board of Trustees will take place in December 2024.
