Communications & media specialist
An experienced communications & media specialist based in Ottawa, Canada, Michel Bélanger’s involvement with the FISU World University Games spans over two decades.
During that period, he has attended 14 previous editions of the event in a variety of roles with the Canadian delegation or as a member of the FISU team, including five times as a mentor with the Young Reporters Programme.
A graduate of Université Laval in Quebec City, Bélanger worked in the Canadian university sports system from 1997 to 2016, including 13 years as communications director for the national federation, now known as U SPORTS.
In his current consulting practice, he offers a wide range of communications-related services to numerous sports organisations throughout Canada, including, among others, serving as Swimming Canada’s media attaché at two Paralympic Games and three World Para Swimming Championships.
