General Information
What types of tickets are available?
Ground Pass: access to all sports and non-sports activities (except Opening Ceremony and Closing Concert and selected concerts) for the entire duration of the event). 10% discount on tickets for the Opening Ceremony and Closing Concert.
Day Ticket: Access to all sports and non-sports activities on one day in a selected city (Essen, Duisburg or Berlin).
Sport Ticket: Guaranteed seating for a specific sport on the day of the event. It can also be used like a Day Ticket.
How does the purchase process work?
Visit the official Ticket Shop under this link and first click on the desired sport, Ground Pass, Day Ticket, Opening Ceremony or a concert. Then select the city and date. After selecting the seats (for sports tickets), add your selection to the shopping cart and go through the regular checkout process. After purchasing, you will receive the ticket by email as a digital PDF or mobile QR code for your wallet.
Are there discounted tickets?
We offer discounts for certain groups of people, e.g. school pupils, students, trainees, people with disabilities or senior citizens. We also offer tickets for families. You can find more information while completing the booking process.
Which payment methods are offered?
Visa card, credit card, Mastercard and Paypal can be used for payment.
What is the refund policy?

Can tickets be transferred?
All tickets can be transferred until the day before the event, the Ground Pass can be transferred until July 15. You can find the process on this page under "Utilisation and Access".
Can I use public transport free of charge with my ticket?
With all ticket types, public transport can be used free of charge in the VRR area (except in Berlin). The prerequisite for this is the personalisation of the ticket.
GROUND PASS
What is the Ground Pass?
The Ground Pass is ideal for fans who want to experience the diversity of the FISU World University Games over the entire duration. The Ground Pass includes:
access to all sporting events and non-sporting activities (except Opening Ceremony, Closing Concert and selected concerts),
the use of public transportation (except in Berlin) and
10% discount on tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies and
Admission to sporting events is on a first come, first served basis in the designated Ground Pass areas. At least 10% of the total capacity of a venue is reserved for Ground Pass holders. If this capacity is exhausted, you may not be admitted to this sporting event.
How and when will I receive my Ground Pass after purchase?
Your Ground Pass will be sent to you by email as an e-ticket after purchase and can be shown digitally on your smartphone.
How do I use the 10% discount on tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies?
After purchasing the Ground Pass, your personal discount code is generated automatically. The barcode displayed on the Ground Pass serves as your personal coupon code. You can enter this code when purchasing tickets for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
Can I transfer the Ground Pass to another person?
The Ground Pass is personalized and transferable until the day before the FISU World University Games (15 July 2025). You can transfer the ticket to another person in your account.
Can I receive the Ground Pass in a physical form?
The Ground Pass is provided digitally, but can be printed out as a Print@Home ticket.
Day Ticket
What is the Day Ticket?
The Day Ticket is ideal for fans who want to experience the diversity of the FISU World University Games in one day in one city. The Day Tciket includes:
access to all sports events and non-sports activities (except Opening Ceremony, Closing Concert and selected concerts),
the use of public transportation (except in Berlin),
Admission to the venues is on a first come, first served basis in the designated Day Ticket areas. At least 10% of the total capacity of a venue is reserved for Day Ticket holders. If this capacity is exhausted, you may not be admitted to this event.
Is the Day Ticket available in all host cities?
The Day Ticket is only available for the cities of Essen, Duisburg and Berlin. There are no Day Tickets for Bochum, Hagen, or Mülheim an der Ruhr. Only Sports Tickets are offered in these cities because only one venue is used at a time and the Day Ticket would not represent any added value for visitors.
Sport Ticket
What is a Sport Ticket?
The Sport Ticket is ideal for fans who want to watch a specific sport. The Sport Ticket guarantees a seat for a specific session of a sport on the day of the event. Access is on a first come, first served basis in an area with a good to very good location. In addition, the Sport Ticket can be used like a Day Ticket to attend other sporting events on the same day. The public transport ticket is included (except in Berlin).
Do I have a fixed seat number?
No, the Sport Ticket grants access to a designated area with a good to very good location but does not include a fixed seat number. Seating is on a "first come, first served" basis.
How early should I arrive to get a good place?
Admission usually begins one hour before the start of the event. Different times may apply for special events such as the Opening Ceremony or Closing Concert. Please check the Ticket Shop for the respective admission times.
Is my Sport Ticket valid for the whole day?
Yes, on the one hand it guarantees me a seat at the chosen session and on the other hand it can be used like a Day Ticket to attend other sporting events in the respective city. It is therefore valid for the whole day.
Can I leave and return to the area during the event?
Yes, you can leave and return as long as your ticket is valid. However, your previous seat is not guaranteed.
OPENING CEREMONY
Where and when does the Opening Ceremony take place?
The Opening Ceremony will take place at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena in Duisburg on 16 July 2025 from 20:00 to 23:00 CEST.
Can I combine the Ground Pass with the Opening Ceremony ticket?
The discount on the Opening Ceremony ticket is applied after the Ground Pass ticket has been purchased, using the automatically generated code. This means that no discount will be applied to the Opening Ceremony if both are purchased at the same time, or if the Opening Ceremony ticket is purchased first.
Can I reserve a seat for the opening ceremony?
Seats for the opening ceremony can only be reserved in the main grandstand. The first come, first served principle is valid in all other areas.
Price categories and discounts
What price categories and discounts are offered for each event?
The following price categories and discounts are offered for each event:
Full price: The "full price" price category applies to people aged 18 to 64.
Reduced: The "Reduced" price category applies to school pupils, trainees, students, pensioners and senior citizens aged 65 and over.
Youth: The "Youth" price category applies to people aged 13 to 17.
Child: The "Child" price category applies to people aged 5 to 12.
Severely disabled + accompanying person (optional): The "Severely disabled + accompanying person (optional)" price class applies to people with a severely disabled pass. With a B ID card, you can optionally book an accompanying person free of charge.
Full price (family ticket): The "Full price (family ticket)" price category applies to a family with at least one legal guardian and two children between the ages of 5-17. Children aged 0-4 years have free admission and do not need a ticket.
Child (family ticket): The "Child (family ticket)" price category applies to people aged 5-17 on a family ticket. Children aged 0-4 years have free admission and do not need a ticket.
Group discount: If you buy ten or more tickets for sporting events at the same time, you will receive a 10% discount on the total price.

What are family tickets?
Family tickets are a special ticket category offered for families. They make it possible to attend an event together at a reduced price. To book a family ticket, select “Full price (family ticket)” at least once for an adult and “Child (family ticket)” twice when purchasing. A maximum of two adults and two children per order can use a family ticket together as a family.
UTILISATION AND ACCESS
How does admission control work?
Tickets are personalised, are only valid in conjunction with a valid ID card and are scanned each time you enter. When leaving a venue, the ticket must be scanned again to ensure problem-free entry to another venue.
What are the inclusive tickets?
We offer inclusive tickets for the Opening Ceremony and certain finals. These include audio description, sign language interpreters and inductive hearing systems.
How is the access for people with disabilities organised?
We offer tickets for people with disabilities and wheelchair spaces for all events. Barrier-free access is guaranteed.
How can I transfer a ticket?
If you have purchased several tickets, you can easily transfer them digitally. All you need is the name and email address of the new ticket user. Alternatively, it is also possible to use all tickets from one device - simply have them scanned one after the other at the entrance.
This is how it works:
Click on “My account” (top right) and log in with your access data. If you do not yet have a user account, please create one with the e-mail address we used to send you this e-mail.
Under “Orders” you will find your booking and the corresponding tickets.
You can now either click on “Transfer” for each ticket or after successful personalisation:
a. download it as a PDF in Print@Home format or
b. save directly to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
