Manager ITO/NTO Services (m/f/d)

In the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games Full-time / 40 hours per week / limited with a reason in kind until late summer 2025.

The 2025 World University Games will attract a large number of International and National Technical Officials to work across the 19 sport competitions involved in the Games. The Sport Functional Area is responsible for appointing these officials, however after their appointment, the liaison and servicing of these technical officials falls within the area of International Services.

NTO stands for National Technical Official / ITO stands for International Technical Official.

The ITO/NTO Services Manager is responsible for managing relevant support services that will assist the International and National Technical Officials client groups attending the Games.

The ITO/NTO Services Manager will report directly to Team Lead International Services. The position is full time based in the OC office in Dusseldorf.

We would entrust you in particular with the fulfilment of these tasks: 

  • Undertaking tasks as they relate to services for appointed International and National Technical Officials and as they are outlined in the project plan

  • Mapping the technical official client journey from arrival to departure, develop processes relating to this journey and liaising with relevant FAs to ensure a smooth Games experience for all technical officials

  • Implementation of policies, guidelines and procedures as they relate to the appointed technical officials

  • Providing timely and efficient communication and information to technical officials from the time of their appointment to the post event period. This includes developing a plan of what information to provide (and when) via targeted electronic newsletters

  • Responding to questions and enquiries from appointed technical officials

  • In conjunction with relevant sport staff, maintainance of a technical officials database

  • Liaising with the appointed travel provider in relation to the travel requirements of ITOs

  • Development of the ITO/NTO official welcome guide

  • Development of an ITO/NTO service level plan for implementation during the Games delivery period

  • Managing the ITO/NTO budget in relation to travel and per diems

  • Working with the travel services manager to ensure all visa letters and communication is managed for relevant ITOs

  • Working with other FAs in relation to ITO travel, uniforms, accreditation and accommodation

  • Liaising with venue managers in relation to ITO requirements in technical official lounges located at each sports venue

  • Working in collaboration with other functional areas to deliver on tasks as they relate to ITO/NTOs attending the Games

  • Other tasks as deemed relevant to the level of the position

You bring the following skills & knowledge with you: 

  • An academic degree in a relevant area such as sports management or event management or similar

  • Experience in managing technical officials within a sporting event environment

  • Understanding of how functional areas interact in a multi sport event environment to achieve common goals

  • Culutral and global awareness

  • Motivation to ensure the technical official event experience is amazing

  • High level of flexibility and be a self starter

  • Striving to find a solution to challenges

  • Excellent communication and mediation skills

  • Excellent knowledge of the English language

Other information

  • This role has one direct report and will manage numerous volunteer teams and/or contractors within the area of attaché’s during the Games delivery period
