To strengthen our team we are looking for the next possible date for a
Junior Manager Volunteer (f/m/d)
In the implementing company of the Rhein Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games Full-time / 40 hours per week / limited with a reason in kind until late summer 2025.
The position is located in the Operations department. As Junior Manager Volunteer, you will be responsible before and during the event for getting around 12,000 volunteers excited about our event and helping to deliver a unique event.
The following tasks are the main focus of your work:
Coordination of the volunteers at a venue
Supporting the implementation of advertising campaigns to recruit the approximately 12,000 volunteers; as well as conducting volunteer interviews in German & English
Assignment of the volunteers to task areas, after consultation with the departments
Development of volunteer shift plans for the venue cluster
Support in the implementation of volunteer trainings
Work with a volunteer database in the front- & back-end
Set-up of the Volunteer Centre
Acquisition and support of long-term volunteers
Ensuring good communication with the volunteers in German and English
Development of a Volunteer Benefit Program
You ideally bring the following skills & knowledge with you:
Completed academic university degree in disciplines such as business administration, event or sports management, sports science or comparable degree.
Professional experience in volunteer management in the planning and successful execution of an event
Strong project management skills
Well structured, conceptual and networked thinking. Distinct hands on mentality
Sensitivity to the needs of volunteers
Persuasiveness, assertiveness & organizational skills coupled with high emotional intelligence
A high degree of flexibility and an obliging manner
Communication skills (also in german)
