To strengthen our team, we are looking for the next possible date for a  

Senior Manager Accounting and Controlling (m/f/d)

In the organizing committee of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games Full-time / 40 hours per week / a fixed-term position justified by the duration of the project until the end of 2025.

In your role at the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU Games gGmbH, with a direct reporting line to the Head of Finance and Administration, you are responsible for the professional and organizational leadership and development of the finance department, with a focus on accounting and financial management.

The following tasks are the main focus of your area: 

  • Establishment, development, implementation, and management of the entire accounting

  • Development, implementation, and monitoring of the standard tools in the finance department (financial controlling for the overall organization, liquidity calculation, budget planning, etc.)

  • Preparation of regular reports for the company's management

  • Preparation of annual financial statements for joint processing with the external tax consultancy firm

  • Personnel and organizational responsibility for up to three employees, especially in terms of professional leadership

  • Application for public funds and preparation of utilization reports for the funding agencies

  • Identification of digitalization potentials in the finance department and management of the planning and implementation of these

  • Collaboration with the external tax consultancy firm

  • Continuous improvement of processes and standards

  • Participation in financial meetings

You bring the following skills & knowledge with you: 

  • Successfully completed advanced training as an accountant and/or a degree in business administration, finance & accounting, or a comparable qualification

  • Several years of professional experience in the finance field with pronounced business knowledge, optionally with leadership responsibilities

  • Proficient user skills in DATEV

  • Strong English language skills in both written and spoken form

  • Leadership qualities and assertiveness

  • Team-oriented, detail-oriented, reliable, and structured work approach

Additionally, we welcome

  • Experience in the non-profit sector, including project control (public funding and non-profit status)
