These are the Medals for Rhine-Ruhr 2025

Months of training, the daily balancing act between university life and elite sports – it all leads up to one defining moment: reaching for a medal. The official medals for the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games have now been revealed, capturing the spirit of the event in every detail.

Five raised lines represent the continents coming together at the FISU Games, converging into a radiant star – a powerful symbol of unity, achievement, and shared aspirations. The medal’s dynamic shape stands for motion, diversity, and the drive of a young generation striving to make their dreams come true.

At Rhine-Ruhr 2025, medals will be awarded in 234 events, with around 2,150 medals produced in total. Each one is a symbol of fair play, discipline, and the outstanding performance of student-athletes from around the globe.

The medal box also carries deep symbolism. Its bold, angular exterior is inspired by the region’s mining heritage, with six contours representing the host cities. The interior is warm and welcoming – just like the Ruhr region itself. Flowing lines evoke the landscape of spoil heaps and waterways, while the 18-pointed crown stands for sporting excellence and the diversity of disciplines.

With the unveiling of the medals, excitement continues to build for this major sporting event at the heart of the Ruhr area.
