    Welcome our delegations and guests in our official hotels! You will be the master of information and the first point of contact when it comes to questions about accommodation, transportation, event services or competitions. As Officials Hotel Accommodation Volunteer you will be deployed in one of our hotels. You will support our accommodation team when our delegations from all over the world arrive or depart from the hotel and coordinate the booking of the meeting rooms.

  • Accreditation

    The Accreditation team is responsible for the distribution of accreditation cards which are required to gain access to areas that are not open to the public. During the Games, the Accreditation badge is the identity card confirming the role of the person and granting them access to the areas necessary to perform their role. Accreditation Volunteers are the first point of contact to many visitors and participants at the Games. As an Accreditation Volunteer, you will be responsible for answering queries, checking and verifying data and producing and handing out accreditation cards.

    The Broadcasting volunteers are responsible for operating broadcast areas and delivering services to the rights-holding broadcasters and the host broadcaster team. The host broadcaster is a service provider that produces the international signal (live feed) that is used by TV companies for their television and radio coverage of competitions and non-sport events. The Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games generate around 2,400 hours of live coverage that is distributed to over 50 countries. Join the team of TV professionals to be in the heart of television production for millions of viewers worldwide and support the broadcast crews with their daily operations.

    The City Dressing team is responsible for all the advertising materials that are placed throughout the host cites to make the public aware of and excited about the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games. The materials include posters, flags, banners etc. As a City Dressing Volunteer, you support in making sure that all the materials are in good condition and located in the right place. For example, in case of bad weather, materials might be damaged and would need to be replaced.

The focus lies on content creation and information management while providing the media representatives with all necessary details required for their event operations and editorial work. The FISU Games Summer generate over 2 million impressions on social media and have a social media reach of over 500 million people. It is an exciting role for those who want to get closer to athletes, practice journalism and communication skills, and learn more about the FISU Games.

The Opening Ceremony is the first big event that sets the tone for a successful event and provides an exciting first impression of the Rhine-Ruhr Games 2025. It is not only the first goosebump moment for the spectators, but also for all athletes, delegations and staff involved. The Closing Ceremony is the culmination of the previous 12 days of competition and brings the world's largest sporting event in 2025 to a close with the official framework program and the musical finale. Around 10,000 athletes from all over the world will be competing in 18 different sports and you will make sure that the competitions can run smoothly and athletes can bring their best performance to the field of play. You will assist athletes, officials and competition managers in various tasks to ensure that everything on the field of play is set up and ready for the competition and we provide the best possible conditions for athletes to compete. As one of the first points of contact at the venue, they represent the Games, provide information and give visitors the right orientation and overview.   • Venue Dressing & Signage

    The Venue Dressing and Signage team is responsible for all branding and advertising materials at the sports venues. This includes the Field of Play as well as the spectator areas, wayfinding, last mile, entrance area, mixed zone etc. In addition, the uniforms of the athletes need to be checked for branding compliance with the FISU Guidelines. Volunteers in the Venue Dressing and Signage team support with setting up all branding materials in the sports venues, checking the athlete uniforms before they enter the Field of Play, and perform daily checks of the branding materials and replacement if required, for example in case of damage due to severe weather.

    Volunteer Management Volunteers support the welfare of all 12.000 volunteers by coordinating the volunteer centres, facilitating volunteer engagement activities and answering volunteer queries. Other tasks include assisting with volunteer uniform distribution, problem solving, shift change management, checking-in volunteers and providing flexible support to all areas which require help.     If you selected the city Düsseldorf when registering, please adjust your application. If you are concerned by the change, you will receive an e-mail with detailed information.

  • What happens after my application?

    After reviewing your application will we see whether we can offer you a suitable position. You may also be invited to a digital interview with us. You will receive a decision from us in end of 2024.

  • I am not a German citizen. Can I still register?

    Yes, you must be over 18 years old, speak German or English and have a valid residence permit or visa.

  • Can I apply for multiple areas of work?

    When registering, you can specify up to three preferred areas of application. Volunteers are usually assigned to a primary position. Depending on your availability, we might assign you another task.

  • Who will cover the travel costs?

    We do not cover the travel costs. During the event, you will receive a free public transport ticket, which you can use during your assignment to travel flexibly on local public transport.

  • Will there be training? What will the training look like?

    All volunteers receive general an role-specific training from us. Depending on your role, the training will take place online or in person. There will also be a volunteer handbook where important information can be found.

  • Why should I apply as a volunteer for the FISU World University Games Summer 2025?

    As a volunteer, you will have the unique opportunity to be there first-hand at the largest multi-sport event in 2025. You will meet lots of new people and develop new skills. You also have the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of a large multi-sport event and benefit from numerous benefits.

  • Can I participate as a corporate volunteer group from my company?

    Yes, of course. You can apply as a company. Please send us an email to volunteer@rhineruhr2025.com.

  • What is a Tandem Volunteer and how do I add a Tandem partner?

    As a tandem volunteer, people with and without disabilities can apply together as a team. Together, they will complete all the tasks during the Games. To register as a tandem, the person without a disability fills out the application first. A partner can then be added via the Volunteer Portal.
