Questions and Answers

General Information

To access your volunteer schedule, simply log into the Bornan Volunteer Portal using your credentials. Once you’re on the dashboard, you’ll find your upcoming shifts and assigned tasks clearly listed. You can view the details of each shift, including date, time, and location.

If you have questions about your shift, please contact the volunteer team per email: volunteer@rhineruhr2025.com. For more urgent matters, please see information on the Volunteer Centers as each venue will have a contact person’s email and telephone number. 

Yes, there will be a volunteer uniform, and you will need to collect it at least 1 day before your shift. Uniforms must be collected from the UDAC in Essen or Berlin.

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as a volunteer are important and crucial for a smooth and successful event. Your responsibilities will vary depending on your role. Your training guide from the volunteer portal will inform you best in terms of what you need to do. Please also familiarize yourself with the Terms & Conditions as well as the “Do’s and Don’ts”.

Yes, you can request a change to your role or shift, but please keep in mind that availability for changes may depend on the event’s needs and volunteer capacity. Visit volunteer center/check-in point or email the volunteer management team (volunteer@rhineruhr2025.com). 

It is recommended that you arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled shift time. This will give you enough time to check-in, get settled, and receive any necessary instructions or updates from the event coordinators. 

You will need to check-in prior to your shift at one of the volunteer centres or the the info points at the sports venues. You will find more information in the venue training. If you are unsure where to check-in, just come to the nearest volunteer centre and ask the Volunteer Management Team. A check-out is not required.

If you are unable to attend your shift for any reason, it is important to notify the volunteer coordination team as soon as possible. 

If you are running late for your shift, please contact your supervisor immediately and try to get to your designated venue as soon as possible. 

Logistics & Accommodation

To get to your assigned venue, you will most likely use public transport. Please see information on Venue Maps and Transport to get a good understanding of where to go and how to travel. 

Yes, meals, snacks and drinks are provided during shifts. There will be volunteer centers and lounges, as well as catering areas at most venues.  As a volunteer, you will get one meal per shift. Please check information on catering and the volunteer centers.  

Credentials & Access

You can collect your accreditation for the designated uniform and accreditation (UDAC) zones. Please check the information regarding uniforms and accreditation. 

Your accreditation grants you access to designated volunteer zones, event venues, staff areas, and, depending on your role, certain restricted areas like media centers.

Post Event

Yes, after the Games you can keep your uniform as well as the other gifts you receive as a volunteer.  

Yes! To celebrate your hard work and dedication, all volunteers are invited to the thank-you party in Duisburg on the 27th of July at Landschaftspark.
