JR: Inside Out - the JR Photobooth
As part of Rhine-Ruhr 2025, the art project Inside Out by JR highlights the cultural diversity of the region. The world-renowned artist uses large-scale black-and-white portraits to make social issues such as equality and climate protection visible. Participants are photographed in a mobile photo booth, with their images directly integrated into the installation, making them part of the creative process. The Jahrhunderthalle Bochum, as a symbol of industrial transformation, provides the perfect setting to showcase the region’s cultural dynamism and change. Inside Out fosters dialogue between art and community and encourages societal engagement.
