Schwimm- und Sporthalle im Europapark
Paul-Heyse-Straße 26, 10407 Berlin

Approach the SSE from Volkspark Friedrichshain to the west, and you would never even know it was there. Almost completely sunk into a raised landscape covered in wild flowers, this magnificent venue reveals its true scale from the direct connection to the S-Bahn on the other side. Not one but two 50-metre swimming pools, a junior fun pool and an Olympic-standard diving pool make the SSE the largest swimming facility in Europe, with a total water surface area of 3,391 m². Designed by French architect Dominique Perrault for Berlin's application to host the Olympic Games in 2000, the main competition pool water is known among the swimming community to be ‘fast’. Are the FISU records under threat? Catch your view of sporting history at the SSE in July 2025.
