Checklist

To ensure a smooth entry and comfortable experience at the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games, spectators should come well-prepared. The following items are either mandatory for entry or strongly recommended for personal comfort and efficiency. Please take a moment to read and follow these instructions - for your own safety and in the interests of all concerned.

Required & Recommended Essentials

1.

Ticket

A valid and personalised ticket is required for entry.

2.

Valid ID

All tickets are personalised and require identification at the entrance. Carry an official ID (passport, national ID card, or driver's license) that matches the ticket name if applicable.

3.

Clothing

Venues are both indoor and outdoor. Dress in layers and check the forecast before you leave. Rain jackets, hats, sunglasses, and sun protection may be necessary depending on the day.

4.

Payment Method

While most venues will accept digital payments, some may still accept cash. Bring both if possible. Check the venue page for specific payment options for food, drink, and merchandise.*

5.

Snacks

Spectators are generally allowed to bring small, non-perishable snacks. Avoid items that require utensils or could spill easily. Please note the special rules that apply to the opening and closing ceremonies.

6.

Water Bottle

Sealed non-glass water bottles (Plastic containers, plastic bottles or tetrapacks) of up to 0.25L/0.5L (depending on venue) per person are allowed. Some venues, especially outdoor venues, offer free water refill stations.

Note: Venue-specific rules on permitted and prohibited items apply. Check the 'Prohibited Items’ section for detailed information.

*The currency in Germany is the euro. Each euro is divided into 100 cents. When buying currency for Germany, look out for the currency code EUR.

Please note that Germany is not yet a cashless society; while all large retailers accept all major credit and debit cards, many smaller and independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars prefer cash and will often not accept card payments.

Ready, Set, Go: Things to Do Before You Leave Home

The official FISU Games-time App offers real-time schedules, venue maps, and push notifications. It is the most efficient way to stay informed during your visit. Make sure to enable NFC in your smartphone to be able to use the Event Experience App on-site via our NFC Tap Points.

Please note that you cannot buy tickets on-site. Tickets can only be purchased online. Depending on your ticket type, please remember to scan your ticket when you leave the venue. This will allow you to visit other venues. You can find more information about every ticket type here.

Confirm the name and location of your venue in advance. Plan your route and entry gate before heading out. To be sure, please take the correct address from the arrival information. You will find these details under ‘Getting Here’ on each venue page.

Security screening, walking from public transport, and finding a seat may take longer than expected. Aim to arrive at least 60 minutes before your event begins.

Bags will be checked at security, and large luggage is not allowed – refer to ‘Prohibited Items’ page. Stick to a small backpack or handbag that complies with size regulations (A4). Don't forget to leave some space in your backpack for some Rhine-Ruhr 2025 merch.

Your phone is needed for digital ticketing, venue navigation, push notifications, or interaction with on-site features such as NFC Tap Points and Event Experience App. Therefore, it is recommended to charge your phone and consider bringing a power bank. Power banks are allowed (non-industrial size) and highly recommended for full-day visits.

This list is designed to help you avoid delays, pass security checks quickly, and enjoy the Games without unnecessary complications.
