Daily Checklist

To ensure a smooth and successful volunteer experience at the Rhine- Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games, please follow this daily checklist before, during, and after your shift.

Collect your accreditation and uniform

One of the most important activities you must complete before your first shift is the collection of your uniform and accreditation. Please see information from Uniform Distribution and Accreditation.

1.

Check your schedule

Review your shift time, location, and role instructions in the volunteer portal.

2.

Grab your accreditation

Your accreditation is the key to the venue. Please always take it with you.

3.

Get into your volunteer uniform

Wear your uniform items and accessories.

4.

Getting to the venue

Know your transport plan: Confirm how you will get to your venue and how long it will take to get there. You can find a journey planner here: iOS / Android

5.

Review Key Information

Stay updated on any last-minute changes via the volunteer communication channels (signal, email, volunteer portal).

6.

Arrive on time

Arrive at your designated venue 30 minutes before your shift start time. You will only be allowed to check in to the volunteer center within 30 minutes or less.

7.

Check-in with the volunteer team

Check-in at the volunteer check-in desks.  In case you have any doubts about where the check-in desk is, try to find the volunteer lounge, center or area in the venue or ask other volunteers. Someone will help you out. An overview of the Check-in locations can be found in your venue training.

8.

Meeting Point

Each venue will have a designated meeting point where volunteers will meet their supervisor before the start of the shift. It will be communicated with you before the start of your first shift (latest during the volunteer check-in).

9.

Be friendly & helpful and follow protocol

Assist athletes, spectators, fellow volunteers and staff with a positive attitude. Be helpful and respectful. Follow the rules and guidelines set out for you.

10.

Keep open communication

If you need assistance or have any questions don’t hesitate to ask your fellow volunteers, supervisor or shift leader.

11.

Meal at Catering Location

Enjoy your meal at the catering area before, after or during your shift - please double check with your supervisor when your break should be taken. The locations of each one can be found in your venue trainings. If you are not located at a venue that has a catering area, you will receive vouchers that can be used in multiple shops and restaurants. The vouchers will be distributed in the beginning of each shift.

More information about Catering can be found here.

12.

Free time

Once your shift is finished, you do not need to check-out with the volunteer team. Make sure that your supervisor releases you from your shift. You are now free to participate in volunteer side-events, watch the competitions or relax in one of our volunteer centres.
