Sporthalle am Hallo

Barely a recurve arrow away from the Sportpark Am Hallo Stadion sits the Sporthalle, an indoor venue opened two years after the athletics stadium, in 2003. The hall is home to the handball club TUSEM Essen and the basketball club ETB Miners. TUSEM Essen has over 2,000 members and won the German championships three times during a period of dominance in the late 1980s. After two decades as tenants the club feels at home in Am Hallo, because in keeping with the motto ‘handball you can touch’, the spectator stands are built directly around the playing area and offer every fan ‘an unforgettable experience’. At the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games, the hall will host basketball.
